SERVICE ADVISORY
Exchange Hosting customers may have experienced message delivery delays of 1 to 2 hours yesterday, February 2, 2012, between approximately 4 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. ET.
We also had a recurrence of the same problem today between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. ET.
Yesterday's cause was found to be a core network switch that had malfunctioned. This caused network connectivity to be intermittent between Exchange servers that route email. The issue was fully resolved by 6:30 p.m. ET.
However, there may have been some carry over effect within Exchange that did not become evident until approximately 3 p.m. ET. Steps were taken to restart the affected servers to put them back into a "clean" state. This also seems to have resolved the issue.
We will continue to monitor and track this issue. We will inform you of any additional developments.
